About
The ICE out of LA Coalition is composed of organizations from around Los Angeles County which share a deep concern over the issue of mass deportations.
MISSION:The ICE out of LA Coalition is composed of organizations from around Los Angeles County, including labor, faith, grassroots, legal, and civil rights organizations, which share a deep concern over the issue of mass deportations that continues to separate families within our community. We aim to create an open source campaign where people push for ICE out of LA through diverse and innovative tactics.
|
VISION:We envision Los Angeles County as a leader in the humanization and decriminalization of immigrants and their families and a champion for immigrant rights.
|
PRINCIPLES:
We believe people have the right to remain with their families and communities. We oppose deportations, criminalization, and mass incarceration, which result in family separation and community devastation.
We want neighborhoods where there is no collaboration between ICE and LA cities/LA County. This includes a prohibition on ICE agents entering any LAPD/LASD facilities.
All people should be treated with dignity and respect and not criminalized.
We value and intentionally support the efforts of other organizations pushing for restorative and transformative justice in the criminal and immigration systems. We recognize the intersection of various struggles.
There should be no ICE holds in LA cities and LA County. There should be no exceptions to this.
The California Trust Act does not go far enough in limiting local collaboration with ICE. The Trust Act is a floor - moving forward, we want to go above its limits.
